I know it’s only Tuesday and while most people are going onto their second day of work. In my line of business Tuesday’s are considered my first day back to work. In any event I didn’t want to get out of bed. But since I love what I do, I’ve got to rise and shine. So here’s to everyone who loves their bedroom as much as I love mine.
A dark accent wall against this tufted headboard gives the bed a focal point. This way the bed doesn’t get lost within the four white walls. The matching chrome seating gives the room a touch of glam. While the hardwood floors breathes warmth into the air.
Speaking of glam. I’m a sucker when it comes to black, white and anything mirrored as my room is based on this color palate. I love how all the colors come together and the chandelier takes it up a notch in the decor.
A simple yet comfortable New York apartment bedroom. White crisp sheets and a down comforter. I think I might just have to call out sick…ahh chew!
Bonus: After getting your beauty rest the next place to go is makeup and hair! Who wouldn’t love to get ready in a vanity room like this.

In A New York Minute…Apartment
Now here’s a sight for soar eyes! Viewing this room makes me want to curl back in my own bed this morning.
Every girl dreams of having a walk-in closet and I’m no exception!
I’m so in love with this mirror glass tile backsplash wall. It’s a great way to add more light to a space where it’s needed. The radiant light from outside makes the room feel bigger.
Happy Monday, hope you enjoyed your weekend! To all my tri-state area friends & family back home keep safe!! T.S./hurricane Sandy I hear is something like we’ve never seen or had before…
Colorful Wonders
These past two weeks have been a rough one and would explain my absents from posting. Last I posted about loosing my dog to Cancer & the day I was traveling back home I got news there was another death in the family. But now that I’m slowly getting back on the beaten path I wanted to share with you some colorful patterns that I’ve come across and would love to work on…soon!
By the way the package of my sewing machine (that I had my dad mail me from CT) came a couple days before I had to go back home to CT. I was so busy with work that I didn’t have time to open it. However, when I did to my surprise I found that the petal was damaged in the mailing shuffle. The case that holds the sewing machine and everything with it; opened some how. While my sewing projects are on hold for a moment. It gives me more time to look around at some prints and textures I’d like to work with.
All of these fabrics can be found online at: online fabric store. I’m dreaming about ordering all of these and making pillows (decorative) and some draperies. The last one called Sugar Baby Splash from P. Kaufmann I think would go perfect in a nursery room. What do you think? Either way you’ll be seeing them sometime soon so check back to see what I do with them.
Tell me what would you do with these fabrics? Enjoy your Thursday!!
HomeGoods Find…
While I’m still here in CT. I couldn’t help but to stop into the local HomeGoods store. While browsing around in the Westport location. I spotted a blue & white floral euro sham. I almost fell over in the aisle by my sudden find. It’s plush and cozy!
I was so relieved when I saw it was the last pair left in the store. However, I didn’t have such luck when it came to looking for a matching duvet cover. There was nothing left but Kings throughout…I’m not a King. But a Queen. And I rule the universe! Well metaphorically speaking of course. But no worries, I’ll make it work by pull the colors from the pillows into my bedding. For now these lovelies will be packed and shipped down to my sunny FL home.
What’s your latest store finds? Please share & post pics. Thanks for viewing and happy Tuesday!!
Console Treats
Console Tables I feel have come a long way since the earlier decade. The designs and use for them have changed. Long gone are the bland tables in your foyer or behind the sofa. One of my favorite stores to visit when I’m back home is Lillian August. They’ve come along way and now their stores are popping up all across the country.
Below are some pieces I adore and find inspirational.
The renaissance copper finish I just adore! The glass shelving below allows more space to store decorative pieces.
The first piece I admire the most (Victor Mirror Console). Anything mirrored, silver & black it’s my go to! I don’t know why but I gravitate towards this for some reason. Maybe it’s the glamor of black and mirror that gets me. Now off to see what other goodies I can find. Some of these items are so tempting I might have to buy something and mail it back to FL.
Thanks for viewing & enjoy your Monday…
R.I.P. Anastasia “Stasia” Rogers
Ok so, I haven’t been keeping my part up about blogging weekly as I know I should but I have good reasoning. Recently, I got news about my dog being sick. Once I found out that it was a life or death situation…I immediatly had to rush from FL back home to CT. In this case it was a death situation. My dog had cancer that progressed pretty quickly. That morning I came back home I realized it was time to say my good-bye. I’ll have to admit I was a mess seeing her leave me a little more each hour. But when the final hour came I had no choice but to come to terms with the harsh reality of life and death. Death was the end result and but in life I will always remember her personality and all the fun we shared together.
Pink For A Cure
In honor of breast cancer. This month is all about pink and raising funds to help cure this deadly disease. So I’d like to share are all things pink.
Mirrored any and everything I’m loving. The lucite chair in the corner makes a great accent chair as it gives the illusion of more space with out actually taking up much. The copper dragonfly string lights give more attention to the iron mid-century anarchy headboard.
I’m soooo in love with these valances and matching pillows on the window bay.
Simply stated romantic with a touch of elegance.
In an all white room adding a punch of color goes a long way. I for one love the paired mirrors on the wall giving it some added dimension.
Thank your for viewing. Please spread the word about breast cancer awareness and be sure to get checked. Early detection is key to keeping yourself and the ones around you the most protected. Enjoy your long weekend and happy early Columbus day for all those that are off.
Search And You Shall Find
I was on the hunt for some new fabric when I came across a pin on Pinterest called, Pink Chalk Fabrics. As I was searching for something pink to match with my project decor. And then this lovely one appeared in front of me.
Now I’m not much of an impulse buyer. I pick things up and hold it while I’m in the store until I’m ready to checkout. Or in this case watch it on the internet and hope it’s still there. Originally when I first saw it there were 9 yards remaining. A couple days later there were 2 yards left. Enough time had gone by and with a lot of thought I decided to buy. After all, I HAD TO HAVE IT!!!
My impulse buy came into full effect at this point. I immediately put in my credit card information and hit the checkout button. It wasn’t until after my card info was entered that I couldn’t use this for it’s original purpose. My needed request was for an upholstery material, as it was being used for a chair. With a little disappointment on my behalf for not remembering it said the material was cotton. This would be too soft and would easily rip and be worn out before it’s time. I called and left a message about my mistake. After a long thought process; I figured it wasn’t such a bad impulse buy as it could easily be used for another project.
After all I almost lost sleep over this and had to have it!! The following day a rep for the company called to ask if I wish to cancel my order. My response was simply a no as it’s too GORGE to give up!
Please let me know if you have any suggestions what this should be used for? I’m open for all suggestions! Just bare in mind there are only 2 yards so I have limited options. So far maybe the thought of a a euro sham is the only idea.
Hey, it’s almost the weekend happy Thursday!!!
Pieces I adore
The other day I shared with a recent find on the infamous “Craigslist”. Well I’ve come across some other fabulous items I picked up over the weekend. I originally went to buy this table. But ended up coming back the next day for another which I also have show further below in my post.
When I saw this table it was like love at first sight! I kept going back to the site to see if it was still available and after enough thought I decided to call to see if it was still available. As to my relief it was still for sale! The former owner told me that she was having a garage sale and I asked her to please keep it to the side for me as I don’t want to chance it being put out & accidently sold to someone else. The next day as promised it was left inside for the new owner (me) to purchase. It would look lovely as a side table in a formal living room but for now it looks just as good in my bedroom. I didn’t realize that it came with a draw until when I picked it up. It’s perfect for little storage items. As I opened the draw I found some stampings in and below the draw that told me it was manufactured by Huntington. So just as I suspected this was made by one of the best!!
Just as I was leaving to put my new table in my car. I couldn’t help but noticed this other fancy item. The woman told me that all the proceeds were going to a charity for war veterans with disabilities. Which I was happy to I’m helping a good cause!
- Very similar if not like the one from the Cococozy website. See below.
But as a temporary fix I just put some of the remaining fabric I had from my previous chair on this until I get my tools down here from CT to start upholstering it and putting the final touches to it.
I can’t wait to show you the final touches to both the table & chair. Oh I almost forgot to mention they look very well together as a pair. If you haven’t notice they have the same ratton/wicker texture on them both. Who would’ve thought?!
Enjoy your mid-day Wednesday weekday!!
I’m back!!
Ok so I’ve been gone now for about a year and half. But while I’ve been away from posting anything here I’ve done a lot. I’ve moved to the sunshine state! That’s right Florida & I’ve put myself back in school & graduated a few months back. However, since this blog has cobwebs and all over it I’ll do my best to update it since a lot has changed since the last time I’ve posted something. Today I’d like to show you. Something old turned new.
Below I have some before and after pics of a bamboo chair that I’ve purchased off the infamous Craigslist site. You know everything is a chance and a gamble and I chance it every time I see something on this site. But when I went to purchase this chair I fell in love with it when I actually got to see it in person. The owner was a pleasant middle aged Asian man. The reason he was parting with this piece of furniture is because he didn’t have any use for it any longer as it was in storage. Like they say one man’s trash is another’s treasure. And in this case I scored BIG!! I have some other pieces I purchased again from the same infamous site but I’ll share those with you tomorrow or at a later date!
Tell me your thoughts on my chair.
p.s. He has more of these chairs so I plan to purchase some more. I guess it’s from a dinner set or something but I’d like to sell them as I get them.
